The role requires solid hands-on experience in executing trades across various asset classes and securities and investments into different countries, as the role holder is responsible for leading the team responsible for reviewing prospective investments in conjunction with regulations. The role holder shall also be ultimately accountable to perform and oversee daily Trading for clients

Main Responsibilities



  • Execute trades across equities, and other securities on behalf of clients.

  • Monitor financial markets, analyze economic indicators, and stay informed about industry trends.

  • Develop and implement trading strategies to optimize portfolio performance.

  • Collaborate with Investment Managers to enhance trading strategies.

  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with trading activities, ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Utilize trading platforms and tools for efficient trade execution and client satisfaction.

  • Stay updated on changes in market structure, regulations, and technology affecting trading.

  • Liaise with brokers and Custodians for trade information and settlements.

  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers, custodians, bankers, and tax advisors globally.

  • Discuss team performance reports with Group and Local Management, taking corrective actions for improvement.

  • Finalize goals for the Trading team, evaluate performance, and take corrective actions with Group Human Resources.

  • Liaise with Investment Managers, Investee Companies in preliminary discussions for investment to assess the economic viability of the investment.

  • Provide analysis and advise on prospective investments in India by Investment Funds from a risk and structure framework perspective.

  • Oversee Trading for Investment Funds.

  • Liaise with brokers and Custodians for trade information/settlements.

  • Liaising with Tax advisors where necessary.

  • Maintain good relationship with brokers, custodians, bankers and Tax advisors and liaising with them where necessary.

  • Ensure daily cash report and monthly portfolio analysis are kept up to date.

  • Ensure that all documents are in place in accordance with the local legislation.

  • Ensures timely service delivery to clients

  • Drive team performance by providing leadership with respect to all activities in order to achieve targets for the office.

  • Lead by example in achieving/exceeding targets consistently.

  • Assist colleagues in ensuring productivity targets are met, effective monitoring of transactions is done.


Office Profitability Performance and Growth



  • Ensure office profitability and performance aligned with the approved business plan for the office.

  • Discuss team performance reports with Group and Local Management on a monthly basis and take corrective actions for improvement.

  • Finalize goals for the Trading team, continuously evaluate performance and take corrective actions to deal with under-performance together with Group Human Resources.


Other Duties



  • Undertake the role of director, trustee, nominee, manager, partner, secretary, authorized signatory or any related position in internal entities or client entities of Amicorp Group, where necessary and required by the Management.

  • Undertake such other duties, related to the position, as may from time to time be agreed with Management.


Qualifications, skills, and experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. CFA designation is a plus.

  • Minimum 12+ years' experience as a trader, demonstrating expertise in financial markets.

  • Proficiency in trading platforms, market data analysis tools, and financial software.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills for interpreting complex financial data.

  • Knowledge of risk management principles and quick decision-making in fast-paced environments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and a continuous learning mindset.

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and ethical standards in securities trading.

  • Track record of successful trading performance and positive returns.

  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with the ability to manage business priorities within tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess and manage risks associated with investments.

  • Strong data management, analytical and problem-solving skills, solution driven, highly organized and detail oriented with good decision making and time management skills. Independent, hands-on and takes accountability to deliver solutions and results.

  • Strong commercial mindset, takes initiative, positive and proactive, dedicated, focused and revenue and target driven.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent client facing skills. Well-developed spoken and written communication skills and the ability to tailor style to relevant audiences, and successfully liaise with people at different levels. Excellent English language fluency; additional languages preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, solution driven, highly organized and detail-orientated with good decision making and time management skills. Independent, hands-on and takes accountability to deliver solutions and results.

  • Ability to adapt and work in a smaller, dynamic local team environment; along with being part of a bigger matrix organization. Proven leadership and team player skills, with ambition to excel in the role.
